| 22 May 2010 A meeting of the Cooperation Platform for EU-Moldova Mobility Partnership was held in Chisinau on 21 May. The meeting was co-chaired by Natalia Gherman, Deputy Minster of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Dirk Schubel, Head of the EU Delegation to Chisinau. The two officials welcomed the efforts of the implementation of the Partnership already after two years from its launch. The representatives of the European Commission and the EU member states appreciated the willingness of Moldovan Government to tie together the opportunities offered by the Mobility Partnership in order to complement efforts and increase effectiveness of reforms with a view of liberalizing the visa regime with EU. Within the meeting, the parties to the Mobility Partnership adopted an up-to-date monitoring table, which includes approximately 70 initiatives and projects, assessed the activities carried out within the first part of 2010 and the achieved results, and considered the possibilities of launching new initiatives, particularly within the Stockholm Program. The sides also considered ways to expand the Platform by involving all EU member states, as well as some international organizations in the area of migration policies. The Project “Support to the Implementation of Migration and Development Component of the EU-Moldova Mobility Partnership” was launched within the meeting of the Cooperation Platform. The initiative will be funded by the European Commission and implemented by the IOM mission to Chisinau. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) also launched the second edition of the Mobility Partnership Newsletter published with the support of the Migration Technical Unit that was recently established within the above-mentioned project to offer technical and logistical support in monitoring of the Mobility Partnership projects.
