4 March 2010 This proposal addresses amendments to Council Regulation (EC) No 2007/2004 establishing a European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union (FRONTEX) that are necessary in order to ensure a well defined and correct functioning of the Frontex Agency in the coming years. The objective of the proposal is to adapt the Regulation, in the light of the evaluations carried out and practical experiences, to clarify the mandate of the Agency and to address identified shortcomings.
