On December 15, 2009 the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine hosted a meeting of the Joint Committee on Implementation of the Readmission Agreement chaired by First Deputy Minister for Internal Affairs of Ukraine Klyuev. At the beginning of the meeting Mr.Klyuev informed the participants about the positive aspects and challenges relating to the ratification of the Readmission Agreement. Following the opening address by Mr.Klyuev Deputy Minister for Internal Affairs of Ukraine Marmazov delivered his presentation as the immediate coordinator of activities for the implementation of this Agreement on the part of the Ukrainian MIA. He informed the participants that two accommodation centers for illegal migrants had been established in Volyn and Chenrygiv oblasts and equipped in line with the international standards. According to Mr.Marmazov, today these migrant accommodation centers are filled at 30-50 % of their capacity and provide for the migrants who are placed there. Besides, Mr.Marmazov informed that preparation of project documentation for construction of another eight centers is underway at this time. Besides, the meeting participants discussed the proposals by the Ukrainian MIA to the Cabinet of Ministers concerning challenges related to the implementation of the Readmission Agreement.
