Cooperation of law enforcement agencies in Europe discusses in Moldova

15 October 2009

Organised crime is a global problem of a modern word operating internationally across the borders. In response, law enforcement agencies of different countries unite their efforts in counteracting organised crime. This was the topic of the lecture given by the Head of Investigation Advisory Unit Mr Johan Fallenegger at the Free International University of Moldova.

During the lecture students learnt about three levels of cooperation among law enforcement agencies in Europe. Mr Fallenegger explained bilateral cooperation of EU law enforcement agencies, cooperation within EUROPOL (the European Police Office), and cooperation on the global level within INTERPOL (the world’s largest international police organisation). In addition, Mr Fallenegger highlighted the importance of integrating Moldova into the European and global networks for fighting organised crime.

The event was organised in the framework of the cooperation agreement between EUBAM and the Free International University of Moldova.
