| 26 June 2009 A Board meeting of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine took place in Ukraine to sum up results of the agency’s activities in the first half of 2009. The meeting involved heads of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and chiefs of regional units and state border protection bodies. Major efforts were applied by the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, regional departments and border protection bodies to achieve objectives set for the second stage of the Service development concept, to elaborate new technologies of border protection and control, to augment the law-enforcement component in the agency’s activities, and to consolidate border service sections. Summing up working results, the Board determined main areas of its activities for the second half of 2009. Top priority tasks include: - carrying out a package of measures to establish new border service sections; - continuing elaboration of new technologies of border protection and innovative approaches to border control; - deploying a full-scale vertical of the service management centers; - introducing a practical phase of formation of the Sea Guard development concept.
