| 23 June 2009 A working meeting between representatives of the Border Guard Service of the Republic of Moldova and a representative of the Portuguese Embassy for border matters was held in the Service’s central office to familiarize the Portuguese official with activities of the Border Guard service and to consolidate further partner relationships. One of the main objectives of the meeting is to develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation. The parties established prospects for future cooperation between border guard services of Moldova and Portugal. The official guest visited Ungen Regional Department to see units exercising supervision and control on the EU border. To sum up the meeting, the parties underlined timeliness of continuous development in the fields of their competence as well as voiced their certainty of further development of cooperation on border matters.
