A delegation of the Polish Border Guard has been on a visit in Ukraine since 15 June 2009. During the visit, a Conference of Chief Border Representatives of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland took place in Yalta involving Mykola Lytvyn, Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and Leszek Elias, Chief Commandant of the Republic of Poland Border Guard.

The conference discussed the situation on the Ukrainian-Polish state border and implementation of the agreements reached during previous meetings. Special attention was paid to the problem of operation of checkpoints at the Ukrainian-Polish state border in the light of preparations for EURO-2012 and to prospects of cooperation development between the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Border Guard of Poland
