The Söderköping Process participates in Global RCP Meeting

The Söderköping Process was represented at the Global Meeting of Chairs and Secretariats of Regional Consultative Processes on Migration (RCPs) held in Bangkok, Thailand on 4-5 June 2009.

Hosted by the Royal Thai Government in collaboration with IOM, the purpose of the meeting was to draw together representatives from the major RCPs throughout the world to share experiences and exchange views on the value and benefits of promoting regional dialogue, capacity development and cooperation on migration through RCPs. The meeting also examined the value of interaction between RCPs, as well as exchange between RCPs and the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD).

The discussions were dynamic, with the participants showing great interest in interacting with, listening to and learning from one another. The sharing of experience between countries involved in the Söderköping Process was presented at the event as well as the strategy for the future of the Söderköping Process.
