| 3 June 2009 The Justice and Home Affairs Council will meet on 4 – 5 June 2009 in Luxembourg. The meeting will be chaired by Czech Minister of the Interior Martin Pecina and Czech Minister of Justice Daniela Kovářová. On Thursday 4 June the Interior Ministers will discuss the following items in the Home Affairs area: - Schengen Information System II
- Visa Information System
- Conclusions of the Council and the representatives of the Member States´ Governments on the closure of the Guantanamo Bay Detention Centre
- First Asylum Package + Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a European Asylum Support Office
- Illegal immigration in the Mediterranean.
On Friday 5 June the Justice Ministers will address the following topics: - Proposal for a Council Framework Decision on combating the sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of children and child pornography
- International child abduction to countries that are not members of the Hague Convention
- Practical application of the European Arrest Warrant and the relevant extradition procedures between Member States
- Training of judges, prosecutors and judicial staff.
