| 12 March 2009 FRONTEX will hold a workshop - Automated Border Crossing (ABC) Systems based on Facial recognition and Electronic Passports: Best Practices, Lessons Learnt and Future Direction - at its Headquarters in Warsaw on 7 April 2009. The intent of the workshop is to collect best practices from the member states which are currently testing or have implemented ABC systems based on facial recognition technologies and electronic passports, to learn what has been developed and needs improvement, to identify common technical requirements and to take a glance into the future - development of a single interoperable European solution.
