| 10 October 2008, Minsk The Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus passed the draft law “On amending and supplementing some laws of the Republic of Belarus concerning counteracting the illegal migration, slave labor proliferation, child pornography, and prostitution”. The draft law supplements existing legislation with provisions according to which persons that committed rape or indecent assault in respect of minors or produced pornography involving minors may not be employed in any position related to educating and training functions in respect of children as well as in any other position related to permanent work with children. Besides, the document establishes criminal liability for organization of illegal migration and for violation of the term during which one is banned to enter Belarus. Besides, if the draft law is finalized it will introduce administrative liability in the form of arrest for engaging in prostitution. The document provides for tougher criminal and administrative liability for producing child pornography. Getting minors involved in child pornography is presented as a separate article.
