On 1 October a delegation from the UK Parliament visited EUBAM Field Office in Otaci. The UK Delegation, headed by Lord Dubs, Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Moldova and Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on European Union Enlargement, was interested in EUBAM mandate, operations and results.
The UK Delegation and EUBAM representatives discussed human trafficking and smuggling of goods on the Transnistrian segment of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. They also touched upon trade preferences garneted to the Republic of Moldova, border guard training, as well as international cooperation and cooperation between law enforcement agencies in Moldova.
