Consular Club meeting in Moldova

The regular meeting of the Consular Club took place on September 19, 2008 at the Center for Combating Trafficking in Persons of the Ministry of Interior Affairs. During the meeting, the consular officers from the embassies and consulates accredited to Moldova have been informed about the efforts of the CCTIP in preventing and combating illegal migration trough the discovery of illegal networks of manufacturing forged travel documents and visas.

The foreign diplomats have shown their interest in the methods used by the employees of the Center in discovery of this type of criminal activity and bringing to justice of criminals. Furthermore, the participants at the meeting have concluded, that efficient cooperation between diplomatic missions and consular post and law enforcement authorities will contribute to a better migration management and preventing of illegal migration and trafficking in human begins.

The Consular club has been established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration with the purpose to strengthen and further develop the cooperation between the Moldovan authorities and the diplomatic missions and foreign consular posts accredited to the Republic of Moldova through a permanent and open dialogue.
