| 9 September 2008 The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lazăr Comănescu, had a meeting with the Minister for European Affairs of Netherlands, Frans Timmermans, on September 9th, 2008. The meeting agenda of the two officials included the stage of bilateral Romanian-Dutch cooperation, the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism, the European Neighborhood Policy and regional affairs (Georgia, Russia). Regarding the cooperation and verification mechanism in justice and fight against corruption, the two parties underlined the importance of the cooperation existing between Romania and Netherlands in these matters, in order to reach the goals of the mechanism. Today, September 9th, the State Secretary Răduţa Matache also had a discussion meeting on European Affairs issues with Minister Timmermans. There were approached current cases, as well as the Treaty of Lisbon, the EU Policies on Energy - climate changes and migration, the reform of European budget.
