1 July 2008 During the visit the General Director of the Border Guard Service of the Republic of Moldova Igor Colenov acquainted the Head of the Latvian delegation, the Head of the State Border Guard Mr. Gunars Dabolins with the functioning of the border subunits, with technical means of the border control and the professional training of the collaborators of the Border Guard Service. Summarising the results of the visit Igor Colenov marked the great importance of the cooperation with the border guards of Latvia and that such visits contribute to the enhancement of the main course of Moldova towards European Integration. Gunars Dabolins appreciated positively the on-going visit, and remarked that the Moldavian border guards carry out a great job in the filed of reorganization of the border institution in conformity with European level. In the framework of the visit was signed the Protocol of the bilateral cooperation between the two border institutions of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Latvia.
