| The Society of Goodwill is a voluntary association of citizens who want to provide humanitarian assistance to people in need (people with serious health or social problems and refugees). The Society was founded in 1990, with its headquarters in Kosice. It is a member of the Slovak Humanitarian Council, and in 1998 the Regional Centre of the Slovak Humanitarian Council was established at the Society. Since 1996, the Society of Goodwill has been a UNHCR implementing partner.
In 2003, the Society of Goodwill implemented the following projects: UNHCR Integration project for recognised refugees in Kosice and Presov districts in Slovakia; Border Monitoring Project: the project has been implemented since 2000 in Kosice and Presov districts in co-operation with UNHCR and Alien and Border Police Office of Police Department; Educational project “Right to asylum means right to life” funded by the Open Society Foundation; “Drawing and painting without borders” contest project for refugee children in Slovakia with the support of Tatra Banka; Legal Clinic project carried out in co-operation with the Law Faculty of the Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice.
