Meeting between the State Border Guards Committee and the European Commission’s Delegation in Belarus and Ukraine

A meeting between officials of the State Border Guards Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the European Commission’s Delegation in Belarus and Ukraine took place in Minsk 23 November. During the meeting, Belarusian border guards and Mr. David Kelly, cross-border cooperation projects department chief, considered preparation of the international assistance project “Strengthening border and customs control in Belarus, Ukraine, and Moldova” (BOMBEL-3). Activities planned in the framework of this project include creation of fiber-optic communications links at the joint border with the EU, procurement and delivery of a mobile X-ray unit, creation of a computer-aided aircraft traffic control system, and seminars and trainings for representatives of the State Border Guards Committee and the State Customs Committee.
