| 26 November 2007 From 24-29 November 2007, the Danish Refugee Council will host a group of 15 Ukrainian state asylum officials and five representatives from national NGOs in Copenhagen as part of a study visit to the Danish Refugee Council Headquarters and the Danish Immigration Service. The group will become thoroughly acquainted with the unique role the DRC plays in the Danish asylum process and meet with its Asylum, Integration, and International Departments. The group will observe the work of the Danish Immigration Service and visit the adjacent temporary accommodation centre for asylum seekers operated by the Danish Red Cross. The Danish Police Department will conduct a training course on interview techniques for asylum seekers. The group also will visit the appellate court for asylum cases and the Ukrainian ambassador to Denmark. The trip to Copenhagen also will encompass preliminary discussions regarding the establishment of an NGO-state authority forum in Ukraine. The Danish example of NGO-state authority cooperation will be introduced as a possible model for such a forum.
