| 8 November 2007 On 8 November, the Parliament of Moldova ratified the agreements on visa facilitation and readmission that were signed in Brussels on the 10th October. The visa facilitation agreement says that all the Moldovan applicants will be issued with visas within ten days, period that can be extended to 30 days and reduced to two days in case of emergencies. The visa tax will be 35 euros in contrast to the tax of 60 euros for other states. A significant number of Moldovans, especially children, young people aged under 18, representatives of the civil society, journalists, businesspeople, sportsmen, artists, transporters, pensioners and others will be issued with free visas. The persons that travel to the EU frequently can get multiple entry visas valid for a period of five years. The holders of diplomatic passports do not have to obtain visas. The readmission agreement stipulates the obligation to readmit nationals of the country with which the EU has signed the agreement. Also, the agreement contains the commitment to readmit stateless persons or persons of another jurisdiction who entered the EU illegally from the country in question, or vice versa. These might include, for example illegal immigrants in the EU who were also illegal in the country from which they entered, or who had temporary residence permits in that country that have subsequently expired. If the European Parliament ratifies the two agreements on 12 November, they will take effect on 1 January 2008 // REPORTER.MD
