| 2 October 2007 On 28 September, within the framework of cooperation between the State Border Guards Services of Ukraine and the EC Delegation to Ukraine, 12 special border surveillance complexes were handed over to the Border Guards of Ukraine. The official ceremony was attended by the Deputy Head of State Border Guard Services of Ukraine Mr. Oleksandr Melnykov, attaché of the EC Delegation to Ukraine Mr. Bernhard Bogensperger, Deputy Head of UNDP Ukraine Ms. Ioanna Kazhana-Vyshnovetska, representatives of international organizations and diplomatic community in Ukraine. The hand over of 12 border surveillance complexes is the first step in implementation of the integrated border management approach in Ukraine. The 12 complexes, which costs amount to 3,8 mln. USD will be installed at the border control checking points in Kotovsk, Sumy, Chernigiv, and Chop regions.
