Belarus plans to meet international standards of border control

First Deputy Head of the State Border Guards Committee, Mr. Vadim Zaitsev, reports, that Belarus plans to finish the transition to the international standards of border control by the end of the year. The transition will be put into practice via introduction of automated control system at all border check points.

The transition process had been discussed during the networking visit of Belarusian border guards to France, where the delegation of Belarus got acquainted with French experience of using biometric technologies at the border. The Ministry of Interior of Belarus is a responsible authority to decide of the use of biometric data in passports.
