Over the two recent years, Italy has issued 10 thousand entry permits to Moldovan labor migrants. Moldovan nationals mainly work in Italy’s north and center. The greatest number of such workers is registered in such provinces as Veneto, Lombardy, Emilia Romana, Toscana, and Lazio. Of the total number of legal Moldovan migrants in Italy, 32.3% work in that country for more than a year, 26.9% less than a year, and 40.8% are seasonal workers who don’t stay in Italy for more than 6 months. According to the report, the greatest numbers of Moldovan migrants stay in Russia (60%), Italy (16%), Portugal (5%), Greece (2.5%), and Ukraine (2%).
