| 18.07.2007 In compliance with the plan of international cooperation a working meeting at the level of chiefs of border guard departments of Belarus and Lithuania is started today. Within the meeting the Chairman of the State Border Guard Committee of the Republic of Belarus Colonel Igor Rachkovsky and Commander of the State Border Guard Service under the Ministry of the Interior of the Lithuanian Republic General Saulius Stripeika are expected to exchange information on the situation at the Belarusian - Lithuanian border, activity of the border guard departments of the two countries in struggle against illicit migration, trafficking in drugs, transport means and excised goods. More over, the chiefs of the border departments are going to cover a number of issues of the interdepartmental cooperation in the sphere of border safeguard and check-points’ functioning. The issues of ratification of the intergovernmental Agreement on border guard representatives came into force on 25 June of the current year will be also touched upon. The meeting’s program envisages the Grodno and Lida border detachments visitation.
