| 14 June 2007 On 14-15 June in the Polish town of Arlamuv, the 6th session of the Inter-governmental Ukrainian-Polish Coordination Council on inter-regional cooperation is taking place. The session is co-chaired by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Volodymyr Handogiy and the Deputy Minister for Interior and Administration of Poland Mr. Vyaslav Tarky. Representatives of respective ministries and oblast administrations of Ukraine will take part in the session. It is expected to consider topical issues for deepening of inter-regional and cross-border cooperation, in particular the improvement of coordination mechanisms between the local communities, local authorities, and build upon effective use of EC funds. The session will discuss in detail how border-check-points and cross-border infrastructure are to be improved. Ukrainian and Polish sides will elaborate concrete projects in the a/m fields so as to ensure the participation of the regional and local authorities. |
