| 7 June 2007 As of 1 June after the new procedure for children temporary departing abroad from Lithuania entered into force, allowing minors easily depart from Lithuania. An agreement of another parent is optional for a minor going abroad. A minor having an agreement of one of his/her parents (or an agreement of a guardian) can temporary depart with an accompanying person or alone. In the case when child's surname/family name does not coincide with the surname of the parent with whom he departs, a birth certificate must be submitted to the border guards at the border crossing point.
