Green Border Protection Standards is taught at the seminar for border guards of Belarus

Within the framework of EU/UNDP Programme “Enhancing the System of Immigration Control at the State Border of the Republic of Belarus” (BOMBEL-2) a seminar aiming at organization and implementation of the “green” border protection commenced its work in the Finnish city of Yoensuu on 30 May 2007. The Belarusian delegation is headed by the chief of the State Border Guard Department Colonel Andrei Goroulko, the Finnish – by the border security expert of the Finnish Border Guard Lieutenant-Colonel Esa Asikainen. Within five days the parties exchanged experience in organization and implementation of the “green” border protection using service dogs, mobile units and database-aided systems as well as to discuss data exchange and further practical cooperation
