Integrated Border Management in Ukraine and Moldova

EUBAM conducted a series of study tours (within the framework of BOMMOLUK 1 project) for the counterpart organizations, Customs and Border Guard Services of Ukraine and Moldova. BOMMOLUK has been launched in April 2007. 12 study trips are envisaged to carry out: 4 visits on European best practices in Integrated Border Management (IBM) and 8 visits on the elaboration and running Risk Analysis systems. Within IBM component, study trips to Greece, Austria and Croatia have already taken place. Visits on Risk Analysis are planned to Finland, Belgium, Turkey and other destinations. The overall aim of the study tours is to give participants an opportunity to observe new methods and techniques used at joint borders, learn best practices in risk management and observe the work of the information exchange systems of the EU countries and its neighbours.
