| 27 March 2007 European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso hopes that Ukraine-EU agreements on visa facilitation regime and readmission will come into force at the end of 2007. He said on Tuesday, 27 March, in Brussels, at a press conference held following his meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych. “I believe that full implementation of these agreements is quite important for citizens”, the European Commission President emphasized. The President of the EC noted that the current visit of the Ukrainian Prime Minister was taking place “at a very important moment in Ukraine-EU relations”. “A few weeks back we officially commenced talks on a new deepened agreement. This is our political will to deepen and strengthen our relations. The agreement will be quite important for bilateral relations and it will approach Ukraine and the European Union closer to each other”, he stressed.
