The Director-General of the Border Service of the Republic of Moldova takes part in an international symposium organized by FRONTEX European agency.
On 15-17 April in Boppard, Germany, Igor Kolenov, Head of the Border Service of Moldova takes part in the symposium on "Prospects of operational cooperation for security on European borders", at the invitation from the Agency's Executive Director Mr. Ilkka Laitinen. Other heads of border agencies of the European Union countries and representatives of international organizations gathered at this event. The international meeting has considered strengthening of border security by ensuring coordinated actions of the EU countries in the process of implementation of operational measures related to border management as well as the development of interaction among border guard structures.
It's the second occasion when the representatives of the Border Service of Moldova joined the FRONTEX European agency event that began its activities on 3 October 2005 located in Warsaw, Poland. Currently, FRONTEX personnel consist of 78 experts from various EU Member States. FRONTEX is a key authority in the implementation of the EU common policy of Integrated Border Management and it actively promotes development and efficient functioning of the European Union Integrated Border Management System.
