Ukraine and ILO sign agreement on introduction of project for fighting human trafficking

Ukrainian Minister for Labor and Social Policies Mykhailo Papiyev and representative of the International Labour Organization Beate Andrees have signed an agreement on implementation of the ILO project "Combating trafficking in human beings through labour market instruments". The project covers Ukraine and Moldova and is financed by the European Commission and the Government of Ireland. The project's duration is two years, its general budget for the two countries amounts to some one million EUR, and 700,000 EUR has already come. According to statistical data, 136 violations, connected with human trafficking, were registered in Ukraine in the first quarter of 2007, reports the Ministry of Labour of Ukraine.
