| 26 March 2007 Lavorishkes border post, Vilnius detachment of the State Border Guards Service, MoI of Lithuania, was opened at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border on 26 March. The post has been built in accordance with European requirements set forth for the EU external border security with financial support from the EU. In March 2006, Schengen Border Code has come into force. The framework of the financial program for its implementation assumes carrying out such activities as construction, renovation and improvement of border crossing points infrastructure; procurement of equipment for laboratories, information systems, computer hardware and software, transportation; training of border guards.
