Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine holds a Coordination Meeting

The 14th Coordinating Meeting of the Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine was held under the Border Service auspices on 20 February in Chisinau. The meeting involved representatives of the Mission as well as working groups consisting of experts of border and customs services of Moldova and Ukraine. They discussed general issues related to the cooperation between Moldovan and Ukrainian state agencies with the EU Mission in various fields. The parties exchanged their views concerning border activities. Representatives of border and customs agencies of both states presented information about the work done together with Mission experts and on implementation of the agreement reached at the previous Coordination Meeting. The participants of the meeting emphasized that the accumulated experience gained during the joint work demonstrates efficiency of all border controlling services’ activities aimed to maintain security on the Moldova-Ukraine border. As a positive fact, the parties pointed out the work done by all the border control agencies to implement the Mission’s recommendations promoting development of integrated border management in line with the EU standards.
