| Latvia BG, 8 February 2007. The first Latvian-Lithuanian border guard Contact Point has been opened in Grenctale-Salocai on Feb-8. This will secure exchange of information on illegal migration, fighting crime and other border control issues. It is planned to have 4 more such Contact Points. It is one of the steps, prescribed by the Schengen agreement and similar are working on Polish-Lithuaniana, Polish-Germany and Austria-Hungary borders and others. The Ministers of Interior of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have met on Riga to discuss Schengen information system “SISone4ALL” implementation, Contact Points, biometrical data and many related issues. Organization of the common unit for the crisis situations will also be discussed.
