| 05.02.2007 On 6 February 2007 within the framework of cooperation between the State Border Guard Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) a seminar on “Fight against Human Trafficking via the Air” was held in Minsk, Belarus. The seminar aimed at raising capacity and knowledge of the border guard agencies of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland to deal with the problem of trafficking in human beings via the air. Exchange of experience and improvements of practical cooperation in the field of fight against human trafficking via air were raised. The seminar gathered participants from IOM, officials of the border guard agencies of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, the Ministry of Interior, the Supreme Court, the Office of Public Prosecutor and the Ministry of Economy of Belarus as well as core Belarusian public organizations dealing with prevention and counteraction in this field.
