| Latvian Border Guards have announced the launch of the first twinning light project "Strengthening of the Training System of Border Guards and Facilitation of its Sustainability with an aim to secure effective border control on the EU borders and immigration control within the country." The goal of the project is to form a new informal educational system within the BG by organizing pedagogical support groups in each of the regional boards. It will include activities such as various courses for personal qualification on Schengen issues, border crossing and immigration rules, as well as training visit to France. The project will end in August 2007.
