| On October 24, a working meeting of the Chairman of the State Border Guard Committee of the Republic of Belarus Lieutenant-General Alexander Pavlovsky and the Chief of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia General Gunars Dabolinsh took place in Minsk. Within two days the chiefs of the border departments exchanged information on the situation at the Belarusian-Latvian state border and discussed perspectives of interdepartmental cooperation. According to the results of the working meeting the chiefs of the border departments were about to sign the corresponding Protocol.
